The Edge of the World (Jebel Fihrayn) is where the Tuwaiq escarpment breaks off into vertical cliffs above a vast plain once crossed by caravans. It is the most popular day trip from Riyadh.

How to go

The last part of the drive is on rough desert tracks, so most visitors book a 4x4 tour. Access can be restricted after rain or in bad weather, and the site is sometimes managed with timed entry. Stay well back from the edges, which have no railings.
